The patent is filed under the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property and there are 178 signatory states under the convention. What is PCT National Phase Application?
The Patent Cooperation Treaty or PCT is an international treaty to protect intellectual property globally. There are 155 signatory states of the Patent Cooperation Treaty. It gives you a single platform to file your patent application in all the member states. If you get a patent granted under PCT, it is protected in all the countries that have signed the treaty. All the major global economies are signatories of the PCT. It takes a time of approximately 31 months after the filing date for the patent to be implemented in all the member states.Process for PCT:
